Life Skills & Leadership Day 2021

Life Skills & Leadership Day

The Albert Wilson Foundation celebrated a successful Foster Care Awareness Month (May), which included a month-long fundraising raffle and its inaugural Life Skills & Leadership Day.

Life Skills & Leadership Day, which took place on Saturday, May 22, 2021, in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of St Lucie County, focused on entrepreneurship, workplace readiness and community resources for workforce support. During the event, youth and their parents heard from a women’s career panel and a men’s leadership panel – featuring current NFL players Albert Wilson and Mack Hollins. In addition, select youth worked with entrepreneurs from leAD Sports & Health Tech Partners to gain experience in the startup space, and presented business pitches to a virtual panel in a Shark Tank format.

All Shark Tank participants received a special surprise for their time and commitment towards business development and entrepreneurship, and were rewarded with a VIP experience to an upcoming Miami Dolphins home game and also took a special tour of the leAD Lake Nona Sports & Tech complex, which included a virtual fireside chat with Horst Bente, grandson of Adi Dassler, founder of Adidas.
