Albert Wilson was born on July 12, 1992 in Fort Pierce, FL. His passion for sports began at an early age, inspired by his father Albert Wilson Sr. who introduced him and placed the first football in his hands. Albert immediately made his presence known in the local youth leagues and parks while excelling in baseball, football, and track. His passion for football continued to grow into his teenage years, playing both offense and defense, before taking over as quarterback.,
He attended Port St. Lucie High School in Port St. Lucie Florida, where he was a standout athlete in both football and track. In 2010 Albert earned the honor of Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers All-Area Offensive Player of the Year. As a senior he totaled 2,631 all-purpose yards and 22 touchdowns. Those numbers come by way of 1,029 passing yards with nine touchdowns, 824 rushing yards with 11 scores, 81 receiving yards, 132 interception return yards and 565 kick/punt return yards. Despite his impressive numbers as a quarterback, defensive back and returner, Albert was not heavily recruited and only received a few scholarship offers to play defensive back.
Albert accepted a scholarship to attend Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA where he converted to wide receiver. In four seasons at Georgia State, Albert accumulated 6,235 all-purpose yards (receiving, rushing and returns).
These numbers rank among the Top 30 in NCAA history. Albert finished his career at Georgia State as the most decorated player in the school’s short history with honors that include an SI.com All-American selection and two-time all-conference selection in the Sun Belt Conference and Colonial Athletic Association. He made history as the first Georgia State player to be invited to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, IN.
After going undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft, Albert Wilson signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2014. Despite his undrafted status, Wilson quickly made an impact with his speed and playmaking ability, contributing as both a receiver and special teams player.
Wilson spent four seasons with the Chiefs (2014–2017), steadily improving his receiving stats and becoming a reliable option in the passing game. He capped off a strong rookie season with one of the team’s longest receptions that year—a 48-yard post route. By the start of the 2017 season, Wilson had played in 42 games and started in 19 of those games. His most productive season came in 2017, where he recorded 42 receptions for 554 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Wilson signed a three-year contract with the Miami Dolphins. He had several standout moments with Miami, especially in 2018 when he recorded multiple long touchdowns, including two in a thrilling comeback win against the Chicago Bears, with touchdown catches of 43 and 75 yards, totaling 155 yards in that game. Throughout his career, Wilson became known for his versatility, speed, and ability to break tackles, which made him a dangerous threat after the catch.
During his career, Wilson also contributed 505 rushing yards and was consistently praised for his ability to turn short plays into big gains.
Albert Wilson officially retired in 2024. His NFL career featured 89 games, 218 receptions for 2,499 yards and 12 touchdowns.
